OPENINGS

Konbi is a hip little daytime restaurant in Echo Park serving Japanese-style sandwiches, seasonal vegetable dishes and coffees and desserts. Look for a layered omelet, pork katsu sandwich with cabbage and bulldog sauce, turnips with Meyer lemon, sesame and roasted rice, or a kabocha squash salad with pear, walnuts and miso. The sleek new all-day bakery/café Fiona has opened on Fairfax, helmed by pastry chef Nicole Rucker and chef Shawn Pham (Simbal). Look for high-end bread and pastry, which are also incorporated into breakfast and lunch specialties like black garlic toast or yogurt, chutney and curry leaves on country bread. Sotto alums Daniel and Caitlin Cutler have opened Ronan on Melrose Avenue, a chicly casual neighborhood spot serving up seasonal share plates and wood-fired pizzas. Featured dishes include sea bass Zarandeado, pork chop “animal style,” and beef tartare with pistachio; Neapolitan-style pies come topped with the likes of nduja, house guanciale, Gorgonzola crema and butterball potato. A sprawling outpost of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse adds a luxe new dining option to the renovated Westfield Century City mall. Expect the likes of shellfish towers, foie gras, lobster and hand-cut, dry-aged steaks and chops, along with plenty of wine and cocktails. The Manufactory has opened in downtown Los Angeles Chad Robertson and Elisabeth Prueitt of Tartine Manufactory in San Francisco teamed up with Pizzeria Bianco chef/owner Chris Bianco on The Manufactory in downtown Los Angeles. The concept includes Tartine Bianco, an all-day restaurant, and a takeout window for coffee, sandwiches and pastries. Tesse in West Hollywood has expanded with casual sibling Tesse Cafe & Bakery Tesse in West Hollywood, one of GAYOT's 2018 Best New Restaurants in the U.S., has expanded with casual sibling Tesse Cafe & Bakery. Nightshade is open in the ever-booming Arts District The ever-booming Arts District keeps ’em coming, this time with Top Chef Season 12 winner Mei Lin’s new restaurant Nightshade. Fresh Look & Menu for The Milky Way

New Name & More for Bacaro LA
