Tamarind, the busy Chelsea eatery, has opened a second location, naturally named Tamarind Tribeca. At the sunny 175-seat downtown restaurant look for a selection of dishes from across India, including lobster masala, duck in a rice crepe and sea bass with yogurt, dill and lime zest. Prime Ko is a Glatt Kosher sushi bar, from the same owners at Prime Steakhouse, also in Midtown. Look for fresh fish---but no shellfish---here, along with noodles, yakitori and even kobe beef ravioli. Prime Ko, 217 W. 85th St., New York, NY 10024, 212-496-1888.
 
South Brooklyn Pizza is coming to Manhattan. The Carroll Gardens pizza spot has opened an outpost in the East Village. Look for the same charred-around-the-edges thick Neopolitan-style pies at the second location. South Brooklyn Pizza, 122 First Ave. , New York, NY 10003, No phone yet.
 
Former Waverly Inn chef John DeLucie opens The Lion, a throwback to the legendary restaurant of the same name and in the same space on W. 9th St. and Sixth Ave. Look for this to be a see and be seen spot immediately. The Lion, 62 W. 9th St., New York, NY 10014, 212-353-8400.
 
Dos Caminos has opened a new location, replacing the triangularly-shaped Vento in the Meatpacking District. Ivy Stark is in the kitchen here, making fish tacos, veggie quesadillas and tamarind short ribs. Dos Caminos, 675 Hudson St., New York, NY 10014, 212-699-2400.
 
The Plaza hotel's famed tea parlor and restaurant, the Palm Court, has reopened. Here you'll find afternoon delights like high tea as well as a panoply of Eloise-themed snacks and meals for the tots. Palm Court, 768 Fifth Ave., New York, NY 10019, 212-546-5300.
 
Annisa returns! Felled by fire last year, Anita Lo has reopened her globally-inspired West Village restaurant, with dishes like barbecued squid with Thai basil and miso-marinated sable. Annisa, 13 Barrow St., New York, NY 10014, 212-741-6699.
 
A Miami import, Quattro Gastronomia Italiana opens in the Trump Soho hotel and condo project this week. Look for very traditional dishes here, including mushroom ravioli with porcini-truffle sauce and veal milanese.
 
Terroir opens a new branch downtown, called Terroir Tribeca. The wine bar, three times the size of the original East Village location, boasts an expanded menu with dishes like bone marrow bruschetta and veal-ricotta meatballs. Terroir Tribeca, 24 Harrison St., New York, NY 10013, 212-625-9463.
 


News Bytes
White In
Michael White (of Marea) is said to be finalizing a deal to take over the kitchen at the upcoming Setai Midtown project. The downtown Setai is already home to SHO Shaun Hergatt, so it would be quite the culinary two-fer, though the two come from different developers. The hotel is currently slated to open in November.
 
A-Maze-in'!
Maze by Gordon Ramsay at The London has unveiled a new spring menu for lunch, with cauliflower soup, beef short rib tortellini and Tasmanian ocean trout with butternut squash, gnocchi and brown butter vinaigrette all making an appearance. Full Menu at Ma Peche
Momofuku's Ma Peche, in the Chambers hotel, has unveiled a full menu. At first it will be for lunchtime seatings, but soon to expand to dinner. Go Go Gadget Burger
BLT restaurant group is launching a burger truck, named, naturally, the Go Burger Truck. It will sling Kobe hot dogs, burgers, and shakes at street fairs this summer. For more info, visit goburger.com.
 
Something Fishy?
To complement the meat-themed Breslin, Ken Friedman plans to reopen the John Dory in the Ace Hotel New York. It's slated to appear towards the end of the summer. Ace Hotel, 20 W. 29th St., New York, NY 10001, 212-679-2222.
 
Tiki Boom!
Julie Reiner (of Clover Club) plans to open a tiki-themed bar in the space last occupied by Tailor. Combined with Sasha Petraske's already-in-the-works tiki spot in the former Company Bar space, this summer looks to have plenty of zombies and rum runners in the cards.

 

Chef Shuffle
Neil Ferguson has left as chef of the Soho House after a year and a half working there. No replacement has been named yet. Soho House, 25-39 Ninth Ave., New York, NY 10014, 212-627-9800.

After the unexpected departure from chef Fabio Trabocchi, The Four Seasons Restaurant has named two co-executive chefs: Peck Zantilaveevan, who has worked as executive sous chef at the restaurant since 2000, and Larry Finn, late of Cafe Gray. Odette Fada, the longtime chef at San Domenico and its spinoff, SD26, is leaving after 14 years. Her replacement will be SD26 chef de cuisine Matteo Berganini. SD26, 19 E. 26th St., New York, NY 10010, 212-265-5959.

The Metro Cafe & Winebar on 21st St. has closed.
 
The Midtown Italian spot for pizza and salads, Torino, has shut down.
