Brothers Max and Eli Sussman have opened the first standalone location of Samesa, which has been a pop-up in Brooklyn and Montauk. Their new spot has a market and a restaurant, serving tahini-date smoothies, avocado hummus, fish kofta and braised lamb. Lunch & Dinner daily. Ignacio Mattos and Thomas Carter, the chef and restaurateur behind Estela, now have a coffee bar and restaurant on the lower level of The Met Breuer, The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s contemporary art space. The coffee shop serves sandwiches and salads, and Flora Bar features fresh seafood, like tuna tartare with toasted flaxseeds. After nearly a decade, Chumley's 1920's-inspired West Village speakeasy is back. Restaurateur Alessandro Borgognone of Sushi Nakazawa and chef Victoria Blamey will serve creative takes on classic cocktails and upscale bar food, like a burger with bone marrow and beef tartare with hazelnuts. Ops Pizza has transformed a former Bushwick garage into a warm and welcoming spot, replete with an oven for wood-fired sourdough pizza, seasonal cocktails, craft beers and rustic non-pizza menu items like braised lentils with toast. Ops Pizza, 346 Himrod St., Brooklyn, NY 11237, 718-386-4009.

Brothers Tom and Anthony Martignetti of The East Pole and Brinkley’s Broome St. have unveiled their new Upper East Side spot, Cafe Americano, which is a café by day and a cocktail bar by night. Celeb baker Christina Tosi has opened a seventh Manhattan location of Milk Bar, this one in NoLIta. It has two counters so those passing by can get their fix of cereal milk, cake truffles and soft serve. Open daily. Milk Bar, 246 Mott St., New York, NY 10012, 347-577-9504.
CUT, Wolfgang Puck's much-anticipated first restaurant in NYC, has opened in the posh Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown. Executive chef Raymond Weber is at the kitchen's helm. Like CUT's other locations, the spot serves premium beef from the U.S. and Japan grilled over hardwood and finished in a 1200° broiler. Matthew Maddy, James Freeman, and John De Piper of Sweet Science and Featherweight opened this tropical-themed spot with a funky diner theme. French restaurateur Claude Louzon and his daughter Julie are collaborating with architect Philippe Starck for Miss Paradis, their 116-seat Soho version of health-focused restaurant Le Paradis du Fruit. The new, two-level spot inhabits a plot on Prince and Mulberry that used to be a parking lot. Rouge Tomate's new incarnation is open in Chelsea. The Upper East Side veggie-centric restaurant closed in 2014. Chef Andy Bennett and master sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier's new spot still highlights veggies with dishes like cauliflower with buckwheat and pistachio, and features 1,600 bottles of wine.
