Jean-Georges Vongerichten oversees the Paris Cafe restaurant at TWA Hotel Eero Saarinen’s iconic 1962 TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport has been restored and transformed into the TWA Hotel. Jean-Georges Vongerichten oversees the Paris Café restaurant, which draws inspiration from vintage in-flight menus served by Trans World Airlines. Paris Café, John F. Lokanta in Astoria specializes in traditional Turkish food, like labne, muhammara, and lamb with okra. For dessert, expect baked rice pudding and baklava. Lokanta, 3116 Broadway, Astoria, NY 11106, 718-728-4477.
 
The space that was once home to Isabella’s on the Upper West Side is now 8th Hill, which serves Eastern Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine from chef Yilmaz Ucar, who is from Istanbul. 8th Hill, 359 Columbus Ave., New York, NY 10024, 212-439-5161.
 
Across the street from the original Essex Street Market is the new 37,000-square-foot Essex Market at Essex Crossing, which has a number of new vendors, two restaurant spaces and a demonstration kitchen. Additions include Middle Eastern food from Samesa, Moroccan cuisine by Zerza, meat from Essex Shambles, and Thai chicken and rice from Eat Gai. Open daily. Frevo chef and co-owner Franco Sampogna cooked in France with Alain Ducasse and Guy Savoy. The 24-seat restaurant in Greenwich Village serves a five-course, French-inspired tasting menu that changes with the seasons. Frevo, 48 W. 8th St., New York, NY 10011, 646-455-0804.
 
Flatiron restaurant Rezdôra Osteria Emiliana is named after the Modenese word for grandmother. Chef-partner Stefano Secchi's menu features food from Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, like cappelletti verdi with leeks and black mushrooms. Dinner nightly. Ralph Lauren has opened a branch of its signature coffee shop, Ralph’s Coffee, in New York’s Flatiron District. The stylish space serves up signature blends of Ralph’s coffee and espresso, plus American breakfast tea and sweets like brownies, chocolate chip cookies and muffins. Jean-Georges Vongerichten has opened a seafood restaurant Jean-Georges Vongerichten has opened The Fulton, his first seafood-focused restaurant, at Pier 17.
