Chef Ming Tsai (Blue Ginger) has opened Blue Dragon, a gastropub with an "East West twist." The menu offers snacks (soy pickled deviled egg with taro nest), larger dishes (Indonesian curried lamb shepherd's pie), dim sum, noodles, and platters (salt and pepper shrimp, whole fried chicken with sweet chili sauce). Mexican-inspired dishes, Tex-Mex and California Mexican dishes are the name of the game at Michael Schlow's new restaurant Barrio Cantina, which just opened just outside Kenmore Square. Unusual dishes include street tacos with shredded confit chicken and Philly cheesesteak quesadillas. Small Bites and Seasonal Sips from Daniel Bruce
Don't have plans Thursday night? Then head on over to Meritage from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for some seasonal sips and small bites prepared by chef Daniel Bruce. For $30 per person, you can enjoy everything from a Chardonnay to a variety of spring wines. Seasonal sips runs every Thursday night through March 28. SuperMET Pop-Up Hosts Boston Celeb Chefs
The SuperMET Pop-Up at Townhouse will host chefs Marc Orfaly of Pigalle on February 22 and 23 and Tiffani Faison of Sweet Cheeks on March 1 and 2. They will each prepare a three-course, Asian-inspired menu with dim sum, noodles and more. The cost is $50 per person, excluding tax, alcohol and gratuity. The Blue Room Hosts Spaghetti Western Mondays in February
The Blue Room hosts spaghetti western Mondays throughout the month of February starting at 9 p.m. that combine Bully Boy whiskey with spaghetti western films. Sip on some cocktails and nosh on bar bites, which are both served à la carte, while checking out a cool flick like The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Gravy Sundays Return to Prezza
Just when you thought Sundays were made for staying in, Prezza goes ahead and brings back Gravy Sundays. The comfort classic à la carte menu, served from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., includes everything from chicken Parmesan and homemade meatballs to fritto misto and Bolognese. Happy's Bar + Kitchen has shuttered but Michael Schlow opened a Mexican restaurant in its place in February. The new incarnation located in the Fenway area features tacos, quesadillas and margaritas --- perfect appetizers for a Red Sox game.
