Yappy Hour at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel
You and Fido are invited to Yappy Hour, a monthly cocktail party for canines and their companions at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. This "Ulti-Mutt Dog Party" hosts pooches, hounds and pups of all sizes romping and playing on The Dana Lawn. Canines enjoy complimentary hand-made dog biscuits and refreshing libations, thanks to bacon, chicken, cheese, beef and liver-flavored water, while their companions can purchase burgers, brews and wines, with proceeds going to support the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter. Royal Khyber Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Costa Mesa's Royal Khyber is celebrating their 30th anniversary of serving Indian cuisine in Orange County by offering a special multi-course prix-fixe menu throughout the month of March. Guests will be able to enjoy a glass of wine or a non-alcoholic beverage along with three courses of traditional and popular favorites. Selected dishes include spicy tandoori kebabs for two, greens with tamarind-ginger-honey dressing, chicken tikka masala, salmon cooked with mustard fennel imbued tomato sauce, and rice pudding with pistachios and almonds. Chef Shuffle

Jon Blackford, formerly the executive chef at Kimera Restaurant & Lounge in Irvine, has moved down the road to helm the kitchen at A Restaurant in Newport Beach. Blackford replaces Vartan Abgaryan, who migrated northward to become the executive chef for Public Kitchen & Bar, the main restaurant located in the legendary Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. Paul Bauer has moved on from his position as the executive chef at Claes Ovation to take over the kitchen at Red, a restaurant located at the City of Industry's Pacific Palms Hotel & Conference Center. A replacement chef has not been formally announced for the Laguna Beach eatery, located in the historic Hotel Laguna. Claes Ovation, Hotel Laguna, 425 S. BeachFire in San Clemente has closed its doors. The restaurant, which was located in the heart of the coastal city's downtown region, was shuttered by ownership due to economic struggles and personal reasons. A new, undisclosed dining venue is slated to occupy the space, which is being completely remodeled.
