LinX, the highly anticipated artisan sausage restaurant overseen by former Crow Bar and Kitchen executive chef Scott Brandon, opened its doors in Old Town Orange February 7. In addition to sausages served on fresh-baked rolls and accompanied by organic, locally sourced toppings and homemade sauces, the eatery also features hand-cut Belgian fries and a rotating list of craft beers and small production wines. The Los Angeles-based, cafeteria-style restaurant Lemonade is coming to Fashion Island. The eatery, slated to open in the famed Newport Beach shopping center in May 2013, will be serving up a fast-casual concept that allows patrons to select from a buffet of prepared hot and cold dishes, including salads and sandwiches. The restaurant will also be utilizing a wood-burning oven to make flatbreads, as well as a rotisserie to prepare items like roast rib-eye and leg of lamb. Lunch & Dinner daily. Chef Shuffle

Alessandro Pirozzi has severed ties with Cucina Alessa in Newport Beach. Pirozzi, who launched the coastal restaurant in 2008 and served as its executive chef/owner, is leaving to focus his attention on his other current and future restaurant concepts, including Mare Culinary Lounge in Laguna Beach. Dining room of Splashes Splashes, the flagship restaurant of Laguna Beach's historic Surf & Sand Resort, has introduced Michael Reyes as their new executive chef. Reyes comes to Orange County after spending several years honing his craft in Central and Northern California, including a stint at The French Laundry. He is overseeing a menu that infuses the restaurant's classic seafood fare with modern twists brought about by different ingredients and techniques. Splashes, Surf & Sand Resort, 1555 S. Travis Flood has come on board as executive chef at LANDMARK. Flood, whose pedigree includes working with Chicago chef Laurent Gras, brings a passion for hand-picked local, sustainable ingredients to the kitchen, where he creates artistically presented dishes that blend traditional and contemporary elements. The addition of Flood highlights a makeover undergone by the venerable Corona Del Mar restaurant --- one that includes a reinvented interior and a contemporized patio. LANDMARK, 3520 E. Mr. Stox has announced that it will be closing its doors. The restaurant, which has been serving classic Continental cuisine in a traditional fine dining setting since 1968, will be having its last dinner service March 15. The building that houses the iconic restaurant is slated to be demolished to make room for new apartments. Mr. Stox Closing, 1105 E. Katella Ave., Anaheim, CA 92805, 714-634-2994.
 
Ruby's Jewel Café has closed its doors after 25 years on the Seal Beach Pier. The restaurant, part of the popular retro burger diner chain, cited the expiration of the property's lease as the reason for the shuttering. No plans for the vacant space have been made public.
