Openings

Randy’s Donuts, the iconic donut brand which first opened its doors in Inglewood, CA, in 1952, has opened its first Strip location at Resorts World Las Vegas. A pop-up window situated inside the property’s breakfast-themed Sun’s Out Buns Out operates 24/7 offering staple items such as glazed raised, apple fritters and cinnamon rolls and signature varieties like classic, deluxe, fancy and premium with over sixty flavors. Guests can also order from anywhere and at any time while at Resorts World Las Vegas through the resort's On-the-Fly app, in partnership with Grubhub. This opening joins another Randy’s Donut location, which opened in August 2022 on S. Rainbow Blvd.; and three more openings are planned for later this year at Cameron St. and Blue Diamond Rd., Hacienda Ave. and Fort Apache and on Charleston Blvd. in Summerlin.



 

• The Fremont Hotel & Casino has debuted its all-new 13,150-square-foot Food Hall, bringing six national, regional and local casual dining brands. The space is home to:
- Roli Roti, which was America’s first gourmet rotisserie food truck founded in Berkeley, CA;
CRAFTkitchen, founded in Henderson, NV in 2015 by award-winning chef Jaret Blinn serving breakfast, brunch and lunch menus at its second Las Vegas Valley establishment;
Steak ‘n Shake, founded in 1934 in Normal, IL, serving its well-known steakburgers, milkshakes and fries;
Tomo Noodles featuring bold Asian-inspired dishes as well as boba teas, milk teas and slushes;
Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders, the first restaurant in the western United States, founded in Orlando, FL by Matt Armstrong and Thad Hudgens;
- and DUNKIN’, the world’s leading baked goods and coffee chain, offering more than 50 varieties of donuts and dozens of premium beverages.

• Pasta Cucina announces new Sunday brunch
Pasta Cucina, the classic Italian restaurant at Sunset Station Hotel & Casino in Henderson, has launched a new Sunday brunch. Offered the first Sunday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the extensive menu puts an Italian twist on traditional brunch fare with selections including pancetta and egg Florentine flatbread, lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes, chopped salad, seasonal baked goods, short rib benedict, chicken & waffle and brioche French toast. Complementing the fare are cocktails such as bottomless mimosas priced at $25. The full brunch and cocktail menus can be found HERE.
 
• Batch Hospitality acquires Table 34
Batch Hospitality and partner Evan Glusman, which also operates the 41-year-old Piero’s, has acquired Table 34, another longtime local favorite which opened its doors in 2004. Renovations have taken place to refresh the space with natural wood flooring, vibrant pop art and an expanded bar with white granite countertop, twelve bar seats and three cocktail tables. A new menu, described as gourmet American comfort food, includes dishes such as beet & quinoa salad, chickpea bruschetta, pork belly BLT, Anchor Steam pork chop, chicken pesto pizza, shrimp scampi, Niman Ranch Prime NY strip, chocolate-peanut butter pie and warm chocolate brownie sundae. Batch Hospitality managing partner Constantin Alexander greatly expanded the beverage list, adding dozens of bourbons, whiskeys, tequilas, rums, gins, vodkas and apéritifs; a craft beer list with unique brews and a range of beer styles; and increased the wine list to more than 150 labels including rare wines. Dinner and Show Packages at The STRAT Hotel & Casino & SkyPod
The STRAT Hotel & Casino & SkyPod is offering dinner and show packages with preferred seating for its “Banachek’s Mind Games Live,” “iLuminate” and “ROUGE” with prix fixe menus at four of its restaurants:
PT’s Wings & Sports offers 5-ounce boneless wings with choice of sauce; a burger, sandwich or pizza; and choice of dessert;
CHĪ Asian Kitchen has spicy cucumber salad; Shanghai scallion pancake or spicy edamame; one soup, rice or noodle dish; and egg tart with marionberry sauce
McCall’s Heartland Grill offers soup or salad, half chicken or salmon and cheesecake or chocolate cake;
Top of the World serves a glass of champagne, Caesar salad an entrée and side and warm butter cake. Pricing is per person and varies based on show selection.

• Pinkbox Doughnuts offering Vegas Golden Knights themed doughnuts
Pinkbox Doughnuts has been named the official doughnut partner of the Vegas Golden Knights NHL Hockey team. To celebrate the partnership, Pinkbox has created five new specialty doughnuts. The hockey-themed Vegas Golden Knights Doughnut starting lineup includes:
- Ice Rink, white frosted raised bar filled with chocolate whip and topped with ice rink décor;
VGK, white frosted raised shell topped with VGK logo and VGK sprinkles;
Put Me in Coach, glazed vanilla cake topped with buttercream and covered in maple icing with candy décor, a facemask and an official VGK flag;
Hockey Puck, chocolate frosted glazed chocolate cake filled with white whip and topped with a collectible VGK poker chip
VGK Pee Weez, glazed vanilla cake Pee Weez with VGK sprinkles.

• The Beast by Todd English introduces new dessert menu
The Beast by Todd English at AREA15 has introduced a new dessert menu with five options. The desserts include:
- Goblet ice cream sundae, made with five scoops of vanilla ice cream, cotton candy, chocolate chip cookies, assorted candy, strawberry sauce and salted caramel ($25);
- Skillet-baked pumpkin blondie crafted with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon spiced apples and salted caramel ($15);
- Smoky s’mores root beer float with vanilla ice cream, charred marshmallows and root beer licorice ($15);
- Red velvet skull cupcake made with a chocolate ganache flambé and Nutella cream cheese frosting;
- and Chef’s Gelato & Seasonal Fruit with flavors including vanilla and other seasonal options served with fresh fruit ($10).
The Beast by Todd English is open 12 p.m.-12 a.m. daily.
 

Chef Shuffle

Acclaimed chef Carla Pellegrino, who was a standout contestant on Bravo’s “Top Chef,” has joined Limoncello Fresh Italian Kitchen as partner and chef with husband and wife restaurateurs Giuseppe and Jenny Bavarese, who opened the restaurant in 2019. One of Las Vegas’ most renowned chefs, Pellegrino was born in Brazil and raised in Italy, and graduated with honors in 2000 from the French Culinary Institute in NYC. She went on to open and lead top restaurants including Baldoria in the NYC’s Theater District; Rao’s (at Caesars Palace), Bacio (at Tropicana), Meatball Spot and Bratalian in Las Vegas; Touché Rooftop Restaurant in Miami; and Majestic Yosemite Hotel in Yosemite Valley, California. “There is nothing better than being a part of a family restaurant, and Giuseppe and Jenny Bavarese have created something truly special with Limoncello,” said Pellegrino. “I couldn’t be happier to join Limoncello in what has become my home, Las Vegas.”
 
• SAHARA Las Vegas has announced Vladimir Chavez as the new executive chef at Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabhouse and Sports Bar. Chavez, originally from Havana, Cuba, brings nearly a decade of experience in the restaurant industry. Prior to his current role he served on the opening team as executive chef for Fleur at Mandalay Bay and over the course of his eight-year career at the resort also worked at Aureole by Charlie Palmer, Libertine Social, the property’s convention center banquet department and at Della's Kitchen located inside Delano Las Vegas. Outside of his role at Chickie’s & Pete’s, Chavez dedicates his free time cooking for Three Square Food Bank during the holiday season.

Triple George Grill at Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino has named Steve Bacchetta as its new executive chef. Bacchetta brings more than two decades of expertise to his new role, having climbed his way up the kitchen ranks from busboy to executive chef. He honed his skills while working at city staples such as MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Station Casinos, Luxor Hotel & Casino, Cannery Casino Hotel and most recently served as the chef and owner of the Chopperz Roadside Grill food truck. "We are thrilled to welcome chef Bacchetta to our team. With his extensive knowledge and experience, we know he is the perfect fit for Triple George Grill and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the table." said Triple George Grill’s general manager George Gatewood.
