North Italia, Fox Restaurant Concepts’ Italian restaurant, is now open at Rampart Commons. The first location in Nevada, the 6,970-square-foot Italian taverna offers an open and airy atmosphere with modern design elements such as its signature exhibition kitchen with a red hood overlooking the dining room and seating for up to 254 guests, including a spacious outdoor patio with seating for 95. The menu features signature dishes such as prosciutto bruschetta with crescenza cheese, burrata tortelloni with roasted mushroom, red wine-glazed short rib with creamy mascarpone polenta, and The Pig pizza with spicy pepperoni, soppressata and Italian sausage. North Italia’s cocktail, wine and beer list features local breweries Tenaya Creek, Joseph James and CraftHaus. The new Summerlin outpost is the 12th North Italia in the U.S. with other branches in Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas and Texas. North Italia, Rampart Commons, 1069 S. Chef, author and restaurateur Scott Conant has debuted his Masso Osteria Chef, author and restaurateur Scott Conant has debuted his Masso Osteria Italian eatery inside Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa. It opened in the space most recently occupied by Salute Trattoria Italiana. The restaurant’s name means “boulder” in Italian, chosen to reflect the rocky desert landscape that surrounds the city. Masso Osteria adds to Conant’s growing restaurant empire, which includes New York’s Fusco, The Ponte in Los Angeles and Mora Italian in Phoenix. Masso Osteria, 11011 W. “Taste of Bellagio” Debuts at The Buffet
The Buffet Bellagio has introduced “Taste of Bellagio”: four stations with signature menu items from the resort’s culinary collection (included in The Buffet’s lunch and dinner service pricing). Participating restaurants and signature dishes will rotate seasonally, with the current line-up including Lago by Julian Serrano’s malloreddus pasta with pork sausage; Harvest by Roy Ellamar’s chopped spinach salad with Blue Lizard Farm’s bloomsdale spinach, bacon, blue cheese, asparagus and tomato vinaigrette; Noodles’ chicken pad Thai with flat rice noodles, chicken, egg, peanuts, bean sprouts and onions; and Todd English’s Olives’ Tuscan farmhouse flatbread with shaved Smithfield ham, asparagus and caramelized onions. In addition, added to the buffet are gourmet selections including hot snow crab and Dungeness crab, and a caviar station available during dinner service. Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar Offering Free Parking on the Strip
Free parking on the Las Vegas Strip was once a given but in the past few years it has become more of a rarity than the norm. Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar, situated in The LINQ Promenade on the Vegas Strip, is now offering up to two hours of complimentary self-parking in The LINQ Promenade surface lot located east of the High Roller when guests present their ticket for validation after dining. Chayo is open daily for breakfast at 8 a.m. Lunch and dinner are served Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to midnight and Saturday and Sunday from noon to late night. December Restaurant Closures at Mandalay Bay
Several restaurants at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and the adjacent Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas and Delano Las Vegas hotels will be taking winter closures during the month of December. The resorts have announced that closures include chef Charlie Palmer's Aureole from Dec. 10-21; Lupo by Wolfgang Puck until Dec. 26; Red Square from Dec. 13-25; Fleur by Hubert Keller has stopped its lunch service until Dec. 29 and will also be closed for dinner from Dec. 2-23; Akira Back’s Kumi Japanese Restaurant + Bar from Dec. 12-22; and chef Alain Ducasse’s Rivea and its Skyfall Lounge at the top of Delano from Dec. 10-21. B&B Ristorante Celebrating Feast of Seven Fishes
On December 24 and 25, B&B Ristorante at The Venetian will serve its Feast of Seven Fishes Misto di Mare dinner platter. The celebratory Christmas dinner is comprised of seafood delicacies. The seven-dish feast created by executive chef Brett Uniss will include cold smoked sturgeon with mustard seed vinaigrette, pickled onion and horseradish; baccala fritto with garlic fonduta; monkfish liver with radish salad and Meyer lemon purée; scallop crudo with tangerine and olio nuovo; smoked trout roe with sunchoke panna cotta and truffle jus; kusshi oyster with green apple granité; and calamari with pancetta vinaigrette. It was announced in October that Todd English’s Olives at Bellagio would be closing in 2018 and replaced by Spago, as the Wolfgang Puck restaurant relocates from Forum Shops at Caesars. Now the ax is also falling on Todd English P.U.B., located at CityCenter’s Crystals retail and entertainment district across from the Aria Resort & Casino entrance. The restaurant’s lease is expiring and MGM Resorts International has stated it will not be renewing it. The gastropub, which has been open since March of 2010, will close on Dec. 16 and reopen on Dec. 22 as The Pub. The new iteration will be owned and operated by MGM Resorts International.
