It appears Belltown residents will soon have a new restaurant in their neighborhood. A sign on Fourth Avenue announces the opening of Fish Cakes Factory in the space formerly occupied by the Mediterranean café, Zeitoon. The chef is Vimonsri Wongjaraen, and the Belltown buzz has it that the menu will feature a selection of salmon, halibut, and rainbow fish cakes.

Grub, a 38-seat family-friendly bistro, is opening in the upper Queen Anne neighborhood in the former Ototo Sushi space on Boston Street. Owner Sharon Fillingim helped launch the popular bakery, Le Reve. Grub will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and plans to serve an "American fusion-style" menu featuring Asian, Spanish, and French flavors.

Kickin' Boot Whiskey Kitchen, a brown liquor and barbecue joint, has opened in Ballard, which is beginning to look like the BBQ capitol of Seattle. Zak Melang and Nathan Opper (owners of the Mexican restaurant The Matador, also in Ballard) are serving up mesquite-grilled steaks, fried chicken, and slow-cooked barbecue. Enjoy whisky-based cocktails as well as traditional favorite libations. Located on the upper floor of the Henry Whyte Building, the 4,700-square-foot space seats 75 in the bar, 50 in the all-ages dining room and 50 more on the all-ages open-air patio. Dine Under the Stars on Terra Plata's New Rooftop Patio
Terra Plata's much anticipated rooftop garden and deck is finally open! With seating for 70 diners, the patio above Capitol Hill's Melrose Market features space heaters to ward off chilly nights. Diners can order from the restaurant's menu, but reports are that owner/chef Tamara Murphy also plans to serve small plates prepared using an outdoor grill. Beer and Bocce Ball Coming to Capitol Hill's Pike-Pine Corridor
A gigantic, Austrian-inspired beer hall will be moving at the end of the year into the Capitol Hill space formerly occupied by Dixon's Used Furniture. The 10,000-square-foot warehouse at 912 12th Avenue near Seattle University will include a mezzanine, outdoor dining space, and eight bocce ball courts. Plans include 24 beers on tap and house-made Austrian sausage.
