Top Seattle Chef Opening New Bistro in Former Nettletown Space
The sad news: innovative Nettletown on Eastlake has closed. The good news: the talented chef Charles Walpole---formerly at  Anchovies & Olives and recently at Marjorie's---plans to open his own restaurant. The new spot has the clever name of Blind Pig Bistro. Chef Shuffle

Four Seattle chefs are on the short list for the next season of Bravo's "Top Chef." These "hopefuls" include Simon Pantet (22), Colin Patterson (Sutra), Nina Vicente (Spur) and Ashley Villaluz. Spur, 113 Blanchard St., Seattle, WA 98121, 206-728-6706.

Tidbit Bistro, the upbeat tapas and Mediterranean restaurant in Capitol Hill, has closed its doors after moving from a small space to larger digs a few years ago. Across town at the top of Harbor Steps, the Brazilian steakhouse Ipanema has been sold; new owners expect to open a new restaurant later this month.
 
After more than 30 years, the lovely Madison Park Café is closing, but this is actually good news. Owner Karen Binder is retiring and has sold her charming restaurant space to Cindy Norton of 94 Stewart in Pike Place Market.
