Chefs-owners Jeff and Barbara Black have opened the Pearl Dive Oyster Palace and Black Jack, both under the same roof. Pearl Dive features New Orleans-inspired cooking plus an oyster bar in the rear. Comfort food offerings include fried chicken and fried seafood. Upstairs in Black Jack (open for lunch Saturday and Sunday, dinner nightly) is a bocce ball court plus a spectator gallery. Menus Take an Enlightened Approach For tech fans, 901 Restaurant & Bar has introduced back-lit menus bound in black leather. The menus use LED lighting and fit well into the restaurant's darkened interior. Dennis Marron, formerly of The Grille at Morrison House and Jackson 20, both in Alexandria, has been tapped as new executive chef for Poste Moderne Brasserie, a Kimpton hotel restaurant. A graduate of the CIA, Marron has worked in numerous restaurants from San Francisco, Minneapolis and Red Bank, New Jersey.
