Geoff Tracy has opened a location of Chef Geoff's in Rockville, Maryland. The menu offers dishes such as catfish tacos with crispy plantains; lobster risotto; and prosciutto wrapped pork tenderloin with sweet potato gratin, green beans and Madeira sauce. EPIC Smokehouse comes to Pentagon City with a slightly different twist: quality smoked meats and seafood paired with innovative cocktails and high-caliber wine at affordable prices. Its menu includes everything from barbecue classics to inventive smoked dishes, such as horseradish-crusted prime rib, chipotle-seasoned sea bass, and a light poached peach and prosciutto salad. The lunch menu features hearty sandwiches like the EPIC burger, a ground pork and beef blend topped with bacon, smoked Gruyère and a homemade apple wine barbecue sauce; and the "cho'gall," a brisket and pulled pork blend, topped with grilled onions and chipotle mayo. Masa 14's New Specials
Masa 14, Richard Sandoval's Latin-Asian-inspired neighborhood restaurant, is introducing three nightly specials plus an extended happy hour going through the weekend. The $4 happy hour specials run every day of the week from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the downstairs bar, upstairs bar and lounge, and on the recently opened 50-seat rooftop deck. The happy hour features $4 draft beers of Yuengling, Dos Equis and Amstel Light; $4 house red or white wine; as well as $4 cocktails that include the Strawberry Lemonade and Margarita Tradicional. Mexican-style Happy Hours
El Centro D.F. is offering nightly specials that mean Mexican-inspired fun with Sangria Sundays, followed by Margarita Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, Ladies Latin Night Thursdays, and International Fridays and Saturdays. These nightly specials begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and at 11 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sangria Sundays provides the ideal opportunity to sip on four varieties of El Centro's seasonal sangria. The list changes weekly and may include libations such as Melocoton Blanco, made from a combination of white wine, triple sec, peach schnapps, fresh peaches, orange juice and cinnamon sticks. Saturday Suppers at Art and Soul
Art and Soul presents monthly Saturday Suppers, featuring a reception and passed appetizers followed by a four-course family-style dinner with cocktail pairings and live music. Upcoming events include "Oktoberfest Brats and Braus" on October 13 and "Wild Game and Whiskey" on November 10. The events begin at 7 p.m. and cost $65 per person, including tax and gratuity. Ann Romney's recipe is for an oatmeal cookie made with peanut butter, chocolate chips and M&Ms. Michelle Obama's White and Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe consists of white chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips and mint chocolate chips.
