Yannick Alléno, known for his creative dishes in Le Meurice, opened his own bistro called Terroir Parisien. In a modern and spare room set in the Maison de la Mutualité, with a huge counter at its center, producers and recipes typical of the Parisian region are given a nod. The menu features a vast array of charcuterie, like the pâté Pantin, which consists of veal and pork topped by puff pastry and served with lettuce and mustard, blood sausage with purée and brawn. L'Absinthe Offers Healthful "Mise au vert" Concept
Overseen by Caroline Rostang, L'Absinthe bistro boasts a pleasant terrace in a quiet location near the Louvre. All summer long and through September, the "Mise au vert" concept will enhance the menu, with light, vegetable-focused dishes giving a nod to healthful food. Expect such items as artichoke risotto with sauce poivrade, tangy beet gazpacho with goat cheese, and naan stuffed with onions, cherry tomatoes and Parmesan. A Celebration of Brazil at Hotel Lutetia
Hotel Lutetia will propose several events related to Brazil from September 15-20. One of the country's most famous chefs, Roberta Sudbrack, will be in charge of the dinner and will prepare a special menu based on local dishes at €50, or €80 with a caipirinha at the bar. In the lounge, a Brazilian quartet with the singer Sidney Rodrigues will play every night. And throughout the hotel, the photographs of Rio de Janeiro-native Marcos Bonisson will be on view. Chef Shuffle
Colin Field, who was bar chef at Le Bar Hemingway at the Ritz Paris hotel, has collaborated with the Halekulani in Hawaii on a new cocktail bar called L'Aperitif in the Honolulu hotel. Ritz Paris, 15, place Vendôme, Paris 75001, 01 43 16 30 30.

It's official. The Ritz Paris hotel has closed its doors due to renovation and will reopen in 2014. The premises and the guestrooms need to be refurbished in order to compete with the facilities proposed by such luxurious properties as the Hotel Le Bristol, Le Meurice, the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome and the Hotel Plaza Athénée.
