Nicolas Le Bec, a top chef from Lyon, had initially planned to run the future restaurant of the Palais Garnier. But at the beginning of the year, he has decided to retire from the plan. The restaurant is scheduled to open on June 1, 2011. Alain Senderens could take the place of Le Bec. Palais Garnier, 1, place de l'Opéra, 75009 Paris, 01 40 01 17 89.

Tous au Restaurant: The Second Edition
In 2010, Alain Ducasse Entreprise launched the operation Tous au Restaurant. During one week, many restaurants throughout France and especially Gaya Rive GaucheLe Salon d'Hélène Darroze and Rech in Paris delivered a low-price menu in order to incite people to go dining outside. The second edition will take place from September 19th to 25th and should involve 2,000 restaurants.
 
Dominique Bouchet Opens Upscale Self-service Spot
Dominique Bouchet, formerly of La Tour d’Argent and Les Ambassadeurs, has founded Little B, an upscale self-service spot just off his DB Restaurant. There you can savor salads, soups, foie gras, a bento box (Japanese snack), flank steak, tiramisu, and rum baba for reasonable prices. The combo costs 16,50 € and the menu 21,50 €.
