Openings

Newly opened with a bar and 80 rooms and suites, the Shangri-La Hotel, Paris will include three restaurants driven by Philippe Labbé, a gifted cook who made his name at Château de La Chèvre d'Or on the Riviera. Topped by a glass roof, La Bauhinia serves up refined French food with an Asiatic touch. L'Abeille, an ambitious table, and the Shang Palace, a gastronomic Cantonese restaurant, will open their doors in 2011. Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, 10, av. d'IĆ©na, 75116 Paris, 01 80 27 19 35.
 
The dining room of Il Carpaccio Recently reopened with a new design by Philippe Starck, the Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris features two restaurants, both overseen by Laurent André, formerly with Ducasse at Spoon in London and at Le Relais du Parc in Paris. Il Carpaccio revisits Italy through regional fare and desserts from Pierre Hermé in a chic and bucolic setting. The renowned pastry cook also adds his touch to the menu of La Cuisine, a cozy dining room in which to enjoy seasonal dishes such as a soft-boiled egg with crawfish and John Dory filet with veal reduction. New Year's Day Brunch at Hotel Plaza Athenee
Hotel Plaza Athenee is offering a special New Year's Day brunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the breakfast room. There will be a menu of hot drinks, homemade bakery items and pastries. A glass of Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Champagne is also included in the cost of 150 € per person. The meal for children under 12 is priced at 75 €. Hotel Plaza Athenee, 25, av.
