Italian chef Davide Scabin has opened a restaurant in the Meatpacking District (337 W. 14th St.) called Mulino a Vino. His restaurant in Italy, Combal.Zero, is one of the most lauded on the Italian peninsula. Mulino a Vino, 337 W. 14th St., New York, NY 10014, 212-433-0818.
 
The Spanish chain of mini-sandwich shops, 100 Montaditos, has opened its second outpost in New York City, this one on the Lower East Side. 100 Montaditos, 177 Ludlow St., New York, NY 10002, 646-666-0993.
 
BV's Grill, brought to you by Alan Rosen, the owner of Junior's (the unofficial cheesecake king of New York), is in the spot of his failed restaurant Enduro. BV's Grill will serve cheesecake at an adjoining café. BV's Grill, 919 Third Ave., New York, NY 10022, 212-935-6800.
 
Calle Dao is a Cuban-Chinese mash-up meant to evoke the cuisine of the Chinatown in Havana. The menu includes duck empanadas with ginger glaze, among other items. The chef is Humberto Guallpa. Calle Dao, 38 W. 39th St., New York, NY 10018, 212-221-9002.
 
Midtown’s Maison, which once served cuisine inspired by the French region of Burgundy, has changed its name and its fare. It is now called Torino and offers all manner of food from the northern Italian region of Piedmont. Torino, 1700 Broadway, New York, NY 10019, 212-757-2233.

It's Brooklyn all the way at the new Brooklyn Proper. Set in Windsor Terrace, the restaurant is helmed in the kitchen by Buvette and Chez Panisse alum Caite Whitbeck. The new Big Smoke Burger, located on the border of Chelsea and the West Village, is a burger emporium with a maple leaf twist. This is the first south-of-the-border venture for the Toronto-based chain. In addition to 14 different types of burgers, hungry eaters can also order sides of poutine. Naturally. The "Chipotle of Sushi"
Chris Jaeckle, the chef at hot restaurant All'onda, has announced he's part of a group that will open Uma Temakeria, a fast, casual, and budget-friendly sushi spot that has already been called the "Chipotle of Sushi" for its ingredient-driven, eco-conscious ways. Mission Delivery: Not Impossible
Mission Cantina, Danny Bowien's hot Mexican eatery on the Lower East Side, has expanded its delivery zone. You can now get burritos, tacos and more delivered all the way up to 59th Street. Mission Cantina, 172 Orchard St., New York, NY 10002, 212-254-2233.
 
La Bottega to Become La Batali
Mario Batali and his business partner Joe Bastianich will take over La Bottega, the restaurant inside The Maritime Hotel, sometime next year. The menu will focus on food from the coast of Italy. La Bottega, Maritime Hotel, 363 W. 16th St., New York, NY 10011, 212-242-4300.
 
Big Apple Revolutionario?
There are rumors that Los Angeles-based chef Farid Zadi and his North African-Mexican mash-up Revolutionario may be making a Big Apple splash someday soon. New York City is ready for shakshuka tacos!
 
Musket Snack

Smorgasburg Goes Manhattan
Smorgasburg, the popular Brooklyn food extravaganza that happens on weekends, is coming to Central Park for one night only. Over 30 food venders --- from Mighty Quinn's to Ramen Burger to the Milk Truck, plus some new favorites --- will set up shop on Friday, September 19, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Rumsey Playfield (Fifth Ave. & 72nd St.). Anthony Weiner Restaurant
Anthony Weiner, the embattled erstwhile congressman and Big Apple mayoral candidate, has announced his next move: restaurateur. Weiner is opening up an eatery in Rockaway Beach called Rockaway Restoration Kitchen, which will offer training and experience and jobs to a community that was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. There's no word yet on when it will open.
 
Per Se's Summer Break
In Euro-like fashion, Thomas Keller's Per Se is going on a summer vacation. The restaurant is shutting down for part of August. It will reopen on Saturday, August 16. Per Se, Time Warner Center, 10 Columbus Cir., New York, NY 10019, 212-823-9335.
 

Chef Shuffle

Chef Nick Curtin has left Rosette, the Nordic-leaning eatery on the border of the Lower East Side and Chinatown. Curtin is headed to Copenhagen to begin a new restaurant project there. Closings

Fulton, the six-year-old restaurant from the team that opened upscale supermarket Citarella, has closed. Fulton, 205 E. 75th St., New York, NY 10021, no phone.

Rouge Tomate, the lauded vegetarian-friendly and health-conscious restaurant in Midtown, has shut down and will try to find a new location in downtown Manhattan. Rouge Tomate, 10 E. 60th St., New York, NY 10022, no phone.
