Marco Canora and Paul Grieco will leave Insieme, their Italian restaurant in the Theater District, to focus on Terroir and Hearth in the East Village. The Michelangelo hotel will now operate the restaurant, which is adjacent to their lobby, with chef Bryan Hunt retaining his position there. Michel Bras, the famed French chef, is coming to town for two nights starting September 12. Look for the toque to appear at panels at the French Institute Alliance Francaise with David Chang, Wylie Dufresne and more.
Dean Poll will be the new operator of Tavern on the Green. The city awarded him a 20-year contract over competitors Danny Meyer and Crescent City natives the Brennans.
