Openings

Ancora, an upscale Financial District Italian restaurant, is launching a Pasta Bar offshoot next door. The space, previously used for private parties, boasts dishes like trenette with pesto and string beans and veal scaloppini. Pasta Bar at Ancora, 11 Stone St., New York, NY 10004, 212-480-3880.
 
Rejoice, izakaya fans. Robataya NY is open, serving all manner of tasty Japanese nibbles, including grilled kobe and fish, sake and sochu. The team behind Curry-Ya and Sakagura is heading the project. Robataya NY, 231 E. 9th St., New York, NY 10003, 212-979-9674.
 
Replacing the little loved Center Cut, Ed's Chowder House is a joint project between Ed Brown and Jeffrey Chodorow. Anticipate New England seafood standards, including the eponymous soup, crab cakes and poached salmon. Ed's Chowder House, 4 W 63rd St., New York, NY 10023, 212-956-1288.
 
Can't get enough of the cheesy stuff? Hit Macbar in Soho. This temple to noodles and fromage serves versions with lobster, pancetta and peas, and even duck confit. Macbar, 54 Prince Street, New York, NY 10012, 212-226-8877.
 
The second coming of Tony and Marisa May's San Domenico, SD26, is now open. In addition to electronic wine dispensers, look for dishes like polenta with foie gras and beef glaze and a trio of baccala. SD26, 19 E 26th St., New York, NY 10010, 212-265-5959.
 
Le Souk Harem is the new belly-dancing operation from the popular Avenue B operation. They've also added chef Doug Psaltis, fresh from his stint at Smith's. Missy Robbins' second Italian outpost in New York, A Voce Columbus, is now open in the Time Warner Center. With the same modern functional interior and a better view than the downtown A Voce, look for ricotta gnocchi, spaghetti with sea urchin butter and trout with crispy fingerlings on the menu here. Trattoria Cinque, a 250-seat Tribeca giant, is owned and operated by a team of genuine Romans. Look for everything from small bites like arancini to veal chops and Caesar salads, prepared tableside. Trattoria Cinque, 363 Greenwich St., New York, NY 10013, 212-965-0555.
 
Hidden in plain sight above a Qdoba, Su Casa serves up sleek cocktails in an even sleeker environment. Eats are of the filling Mexican variety, though the Mexican gumbo and three-cheese burritos look to be particularly noteworthy. Su Casa, 404 Sixth Ave., New York, NY 10011, 212-677-6097.

Ko Ko Beware!
Watch your pocketbook the next time you visit Momofuku Ko! The prix fixe restaurant hiked prices by 25 percent, to $125 for dinner and $175 for lunch. The reasoning? To cook with a “wider variety” of ingredients, naturally.  Momofuku Ko, 163 First Ave., New York, NY 10003, No phone.
 
Insieme Split
Marco Canora and Paul Grieco will leave Insieme, their Italian restaurant in the Theater District, to focus on Terroir and Hearth in the East Village. The Michelangelo hotel will now operate the restaurant, which is adjacent to their lobby, with chef Bryan Hunt retaining his position there. Changes at The Surrey

Rock On!
Sam Mason, chef and co-owner of Tailor is hosting Dinner with the Band on IFC. Tailor recently declared bankruptcy and lost cocktail maven Eben Freeman, so diversifying a bit seems wise for Mason. Tailor, 525 Broome St., New York, NY 10013, 212-334-5182.
 
Shack Attack
Danny Meyer's next project will be a Shake Shack Nolita, on the corner of Mulberry and Prince street. No timeline has been announced for an opening, as of yet. Shake Shack, Madison Square Park, New York, NY 10010, 212-889-6600.
 
Out of the Green, Into the Red
The owners of Tavern on the Green announced that they are bankrupt. The restaurant will change hands at year's end, but bankruptcy proceedings will continue in the meantime. Tavern on the Green, Central Park W., New York, NY 10023, 212-873-3200.
 
Hey Bras
Michel Bras, the famed French chef, is coming to town for two nights starting September 12. Look for the toque to appear at panels at the French Institute Alliance Francaise with David Chang, Wylie Dufresne and more.
 
In the Green
Dean Poll will be the new operator of Tavern on the Green. The city awarded him a 20-year contract over competitors Danny Meyer and Crescent City natives the Brennans. Chef Shuffle
Jonathan Benno will leave his position of chef de cuisine of Per Se in January, to work at a new restaurant at Lincoln Center scheduled to open next year. Sous-chef Eli Kaimeh will replace him at Per Se. Per Se, Time Warner Center, 10 Columbus Cir., New York, NY 10019, 212-823-9335.
