Not So Bitter
Look out, cocktail fans: there's a shortage of Angostura bitters, thanks to a shut down at the factory in Trinidad where the potent potable is brewed. Up in the Old Hotels
It's hotel restaurants aplenty in New York! Scott Conant's restaurant in the Cooper Square Hotel will open by the end of February, replacing Table 8. On the West Side, Donut Plant will open their second location, this time in the Chelsea Hotel, also in the coming month. And, nearby, Jeffrey Chodorow will open a 20,000-square-foot Basque restaurant in the Eventi Hotel when it opens in the summer, to be named Food Parc.

Easy as ABC
Jean-Georges Vongerichten will take over the space that used to be Lucy of Gramercy in ABC Carpet in the Flatiron District. Look for globally sourced JGV classics at the as-yet-unamed restaurant. Jean Georges, ABC Carpet & Home, 35 E. 18th St., New York, NY 10003, 212-475-5829.
