Hong Kong eatery Tim Ho Wan has opened at Palms Casino Resort, with this debut bringing the international dim sum specialist brand’s worldwide presence to nearly 50 locations. Décor elements include accent tones of jade and gold, and tall windows framed with sculptural stone; there is an exhibition kitchen, too. The menu features Tim Ho Wan specialties such as baked BBQ pork buns, sticky rice in lotus leaf and pan-fried turnip cake; and dishes unique to this outpost like a Wagyu bundle with apple and mushroom, shrimp toast with truffle and foie gras, and a lobster and black bean rice roll. The food is complemented by a spirits list with Japanese whisky and traditional Chinese liquors, among them baijiu; cocktails including a Litchi Martini with Absolut, Ganbei Baijiu, lychee, guava, peach and citrus oil; and a tea program – look for Jasmine Pearl (mo li zhen zhu) and Hong Kong-style coffee milk tea. As part of the resort’s 20th anniversary culinary renovation, JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa and Rampart Casino have opened Market Place Buffet, replacing the former Rampart Buffet. The new buffet offers seating for more than 700 guests and an outdoor patio. Stations include the Carvery with cuts prepared on a rotisserie and steaks cooked to order; Farm Stand with farm-fresh fare and soups; Euro with Italian and Mediterranean delicacies, made-to-order pastas and brick oven pizzas; Global with Asian favorites; and The Sweet Shoppe with house-made pastries and sweet treats, including sugar-free and gluten-free varieties. Themed nights are Wednesday Aloha Night, Friday Crab Feast Buffet and Saturday Lobster Feast. A variety of draft beers, wines and cocktails and an unlimited wine and beer package are available for any meal for an additional fee. Mama Rabbit Mezcal + Tequila Bar is now open at Park MGM and highlights Las Vegas’ most extensive collection of mezcal and tequila, hand-selected by mezcalera Bricia Lopez. Three distinct environments include a double-sided bar serving walk-up guests, a sophisticated tavern with relaxed surroundings, and a lounge with luxe banquettes and a decorated fireplace where a lineup of entertainment takes place nightly. The bar/eatery features Oaxacan spirits with contemporary American mixology, with tableside carts, elaborate bottle presentations, a gourmet salt-rim program and an exploration of agave spirits. The food menu includes queso fundido with molten Oaxacan cheese and tortillas; a street quesadilla; aguachile with shrimp, lime and cilantro; tacos with carne asada, cotija cheese and tomato salsa; and a churro with caramel and spiced sugar. Vagabond is now open at Excalibur Hotel & Casino and features an approachable menu of American fare, an extensive beverage and draft beer program, arcade games, live entertainment and sports viewing throughout. It is located on the casino floor adjacent to the sports book. Décor includes murals, art pieces and neon signs, and there is a stage for live music, a string-lit patio and a separate game room. The menu ranges from the Vagaburger with smoked pork belly, Black Angus, fried onion and BBQ sauce to nachos with pulled pork, a three-cheese blend, pickled jalapeño and pico de gallo, and a fried bologna sandwich with over-easy egg and American cheese to a BBQ chicken quesadilla. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m.-11 p.m., Friday 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m.-1 a.m. and Sunday 9 a.m.-11 p.m. and are subject to change based on the professional and college football season schedule and special event programming. Jaleo Offering Lunch Prix-Fixe Menu
Jaleo at The Cosmopolitan is offering its “Lunch Like a Spaniard” menu. Priced at $30, the three-course lunch prix-fixe includes a choice of gazpacho, endibias (endives with goat cheese, oranges and almonds), ensalada verde (mixed greens with pine nuts, fried capers, anchovies, Idiazábal cheese with romesco and garlic dressing) or ensaladilla rusa (salad of seasonal vegetables, mayonnaise espuma and imported conserved tuna with Spanish piquillo); buñuelos (salt codfish deep-fried with honey aïoli), patatas bravas (potatoes with spicy tomato sauce and aïoli), espinacas a la Catalana (sautéed spinach, pine nuts, raisins and apples) or croquetas de pollo (traditional chicken fritters); and pollo al ajillo (grilled chicken thigh, ajillo sauce and black garlic), salmon con pisto manchego (salmon with traditional stewed vegetables), butifarra asada (grilled Catalan pork sausage with roasted vegetables) or paella of the day. Mon Ami Gabi Offering Prix-Fixe Menus During September
Mon Ami Gabi is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its opening at Paris Las Vegas with three-course prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus through September 30. Priced at $24.95, the lunch menu includes a choice of baked goat cheese, chilled gazpacho, onion soup au gratin, arugula salad or crab cake; classic Prime steak, a warm chicken and Brie sandwich, casareccia pasta or tomato salad; and crème brûlée, chocolate mousse, madeleines and warm chocolate or sorbet du jour. The dinner prix-fixe, priced at $49.95, offers a choice of baked goat cheese, chilled gazpacho, a fruits de mer sampler, onion soup au gratin, arugula salad or shrimp Gabi; steak and frites, trout almandine, casareccia pasta or grilled chicken breast; and crème brûlée, chocolate mousse, madeleines and warm chocolate or sorbet du jour. Greek Sneek & CRUSH Football Game Day Food & Drink Specials
Neighboring restaurants CRUSH and Greek Sneek at MGM Grand are offering food and drink specials during college and NFL football games. Created by corporate executive chef William Demarco, selections include short rib tacos with pickled red onions and cilantro for $9; all wood-fired pizzas, including the grilled chicken with roasted garlic and arugula topped with chili oil, for $11; and Maine lobster rolls with celery and herb mayo for $9. Drink specials are house wines, sangría and select draft beers for $6. The regular menus will also be available; a featured item at Greek Sneek is the house-made hummus crafted with chickpea purée, garlic and tahini and served with warm pita for $14; and at CRUSH, the shrimp ceviche with mango, Asian pear and tomatillo salsa for $19. Both side-by-side restaurants open daily at 5 p.m.
 
Craft + Community Launches New Happy Hour
Craft + Community Bar and Grill at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has introduced a new happy hour. Offered from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, deals include truffle fries, a short rib quesadilla, Korean Brussels sprouts and shaved street corn for $5; pretzels and cheese fondue, sausage flatbread and hot wings for $8; and 16-oz. draft beers for $5. In addition, during brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m., an all-you-can-drink mix and match option is available for $24, with choices of cranberry, pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit and traditional mimosas; Aperol spritz, margarita, mojito, French 75 and chartreuse Mule cocktails; red or white sangría; and Coors Light, Modelo, Corona and Michelada beer. Hamptons Offering Daily & Weekly Specials
Hamptons at Tivoli Village is offering several specials. Its Tomahawk Tuesday offer is $100 (regularly $120) for a 34-day dry-aged 40 oz. tomahawk rib-eye with a choice of three sides or complimentary bottle of red or white Foley Family wine. On Wednesdays glasses of wine are $5 and select bottles are $20, and with the purchase of a bottle the mushroom and Brie bruschetta is $7 ($5 off) and the charcuterie board is $13 ($10 off). Saturday and Sunday steak & eggs is $25 for a 10 oz. top sirloin with potatoes, two eggs and choice of toast. The daily Check-In special is a complimentary order of avocado fries when checking in on Facebook or Yelp. A daily happy hour from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. and 9 p.m.-close brings several deals on food and drinks, such as the Hamptons burger for $13, BLT&E sandwich for $10, $3 off draft beers, $5 premium well cocktails and select $5 wines by the glass. Theo Schoenegger has returned to Sinatra at Encore Las Vegas as executive chef. Schoenegger opened the Italian restaurant in 2008 and left in 2017 to become the executive chef of Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante and Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar at Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida. Prior to his tenure at Sinatra, Schoenegger also worked as the executive chef of Patina at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles for five years.
