• Cameron Mitchell Restaurants has opened its 18th Ocean Prime in the US and first in Las Vegas. Situated on the 4th floor of the new Project 63 retail and hospitality center at Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Ave, the decor features earthy hues intermixed with deep, dark blue shades of water. A spacious rooftop outdoor terrace with umbrellas equipped with heaters, misters and individual sound systems offers views of the Vegas Strip. The menu features the “smoking” shellfish tower, hand-rolled sushi and nigiri, a wide range of seafood and Prime steak options, desserts such as the signature ten-layer carrot cake, signature handcrafted cocktails and a Wine Spectator-honored wine list. Menu items exclusive to the Las Vegas outlet include caviar & vodka service and lounge creations such as chips & caviar dip, crispy whole Maine lobster and A-5 wagyu stix. Kaia Handroll is now open inside Area 15 directly across from Oddwood Bar and next to The Beast by Todd English. Drawing inspiration from water’s eminent strength, the space features a full wall of AI-generated artwork depicting powerful female characters, water-inspired décor and countertop bar seating. Meaning “of the sea,” an array of fresh handroll selections and chef pairings are offered, including specialties such as lobster truffle, blue crab and bluefin tuna as well as classic and vegetarian options; seasonal sashimi; starters such as the Japanese Caesar salad with furikake-parm crisp; and desserts like Japanese cheesecake with passionfruit caramel and several varieties of mochi. Libations span hot green tea and sake, Japanese beer and whiskey. Kaia also offers select to-go items, including chirashi bowls with rice, fish and vegetables. The Plaza Hotel & Casino with its iconic dome dating back to 1971, has completed its Main Street Reimagination project, transforming its Main Street façade and porte-cochère and unveiling four new venues. The centerpiece is the Carousel Bar, with carousel horses moving up and down, a martini glass with a spinning olive, an oversized deck of cards, a 14-foot-tall neon showgirl sign and a rotating ribbon of lights above the bar. Adjacent to the bar is Brian Christopher Slots at Plaza, downtown’s first smoke-free and social media-friendly gaming space and only outdoor venue for video poker in Nevada. Above is Oscar’s rooftop patio, accessible via the restaurant’s existing lounge, offering the restaurant’s full dinner menu and is the first al fresco space for fine dining in downtown Las Vegas. Rounding out the Reimagination is the first downtown location of Pinkbox Doughnuts, known for its 70+ over-the-top doughnut creations, welcoming guests through a giant 12-foot-tall 3D doughnut with sprinkles entrance.

• Buddy V’s Ristorante Sunday Brunch Is Back
After a long hiatus, Buddy V’s Ristorante at The Venetian Grand Canal Shoppes has brought back its popular Sunday brunch served from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The buffet-style brunch features antipasto; seafood; a carving station with maple-glazed ham and peppercorn-crusted NY striploin; Italian favorites like Grandma’s meatballs, chicken parm and sausage & broccolini orecchiette; roasted mushroom & truffle pizza; house-made omelets, ciabatta French toast with toasted almond mascarpone cream and lemon-blueberry pancakes; Kids Corner with kiddie culinary classics such as cheese pizza, chicken tenders and mac & cheese; and plenty of sweet treats including raspberry-lemon meringue bars, peanut butter & chocolate cupcakes, strawberry cheesecake, Italian donuts, cannoli, tiramisu and assorted Italian cookies. Reservations are highly recommended and the cost is $55 per person/$24 per child under 10 (plus tax and tip). Bottomless libations including sangria, mimosas, bellinis, domestic beers and wines by the glass are available for an additional $20 per person. • CRUSH American Grill Now Open Daily
CRUSH, Morton Group’s American grill at MGM Grand, is now open daily and has expanded its hours of operation to 4:30-9:30 p.m. Executive chef William DeMarco has created elevated American classics, including ahi tuna stacked with passion fruit, golden beets and topped with pistachios, priced at $21; cheesesteak dumplings filled with onion purée and cheese fondue, priced at $19; woodfired grilled chicken pizza with roasted garlic and arugula, priced at $21; ricotta gnocchi with braised short rib and pea purée, priced at $36; 8-ounce filet mignon, topped with blue cheese fondue over a bed of fingerling potatoes and sweet onions, priced at $65; and Chilean sea bass with braised kale and tomato chutney, priced at $44. Complementing the American fare are signature cocktails such as the Punch, Drunk Love made with mint-infused Spring 44 gin, Lillet Rosé, fresh watermelon juice and fresh lime juice, priced at $15. • Yardbird Competing in Battle of the Bird Competition
Yardbird at The Venetian will compete with the group’s seven other locations in the 50 Eggs Hospitality Group’s Battle of the Bird. During the month of July each of the eight Yardbirds will feature their interpretation of a fried chicken sandwich to be chosen the best of all the Yardbirds. The Vegas Yardbird will present its karaage with ginger slaw, spicy mayo and furikake popcorn. Its competitors include DC with a fried chicken Philly, Denver with a banh mi, Miami with coconut tenders, Dallas with sweet tea-brined tenders, Chicago with aged Wisconsin white cheddar, L.A. with garlic naan and Singapore with thigh drenched with sambal chili. Guests can come out to try their local chef's creation then take to the Yardbird Instagram @yardbirdrestaurants to vote for their favorite. The sandwiches and voting will begin on July 6, National Fried Chicken Day, and the winning sandwich will be available at all Yardbird locations. • Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House Offering Wine Pairing Dinner
Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House at the MGM Grand is launching a summer supper wine series in partnership with different winemakers each month. Its first offering, from July 7-30, will be a four-course pre-fixe pairing menu featuring wines from Domain Serene priced at $155 per person. The menu includes seafood trio with crab and avocado, octopus fritto misto and broiled Pacific Northwest oysters with sansho butter paired with Domaine 2019 Evenstad Reserve Chardonnay from Willamette Valley; Pacific halibut with sauteed wild mushrooms, roasted heirloom beets, radishes and sauce beurre rouge matched with Domaine 2019 Aspect Pinot Noir from Dundee Hills; crispy pork belly with grilled stone fruit, pickled watermelon rind and a balsamic cherry demi-glace paired with Domaine 2015 Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley; and fresh berries & cream matched with Domaine Evenstad Reserve Brut. • El Dorado Cantina Introduces Omelet Bar During Brunch
El Dorado Cantina has introduced a made-to-order omelet bar at its Tivoli Village location. Served during its weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., the omelet includes locally sourced eggs or egg whites mixed with choices of chorizo, bacon, carne asada, mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes, spinach, asparagus, onions and Oaxacan andMonterey jack cheese. Brunch goers can also add their choice of heat with ghost chilis; new house-made sauces including the chipotle hollandaise saucewith a light touch of lemon and fresh chipotle chiles; or the flaming hot El Dorado habanero salsa with slow roasted red tomato and light toasted habanero chiles. This customizable brunch experience is priced at $15.99 and is accompanied by a selection of seasonal fruit and El Dorado Cantina's signature house potatoes. • Ferraro’s Offering Locals Special
Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar is offering its all-new “Summer in Italy” special to Nevada residents. Available through Thursday, Sept. 7, locals presenting a valid Nevada I.D. can enjoy a four-course dinner for $65 per person. The offer includes choice of Antipasti with several options such as parma prosciutto with seasonal melon, Buffalo mozzarella and grilled vegetables and shrimp with white wine sauce; Primi like gnocchi with spinach puree, fettuccini with zucchini and basil and homemade spaghetti with clams and mussels; Secondi with the likes of chicken Milanese, eggplant parmesan and veal scaloppini; and desserts such as cannoli, tiramisu and gelato. Only one Nevada I.D. per table is required in order to receive the “Summer in Italy” special. • The Buffet at Wynn Offering Seafood Spectacular Through September 4
The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas is featuring its Seafood Spectacular menu, available through September 4. The special offerings include more than 90 dishes across 16 food kitchens, including made-to-order choices throughout. Highlights include the Caviar Bar with Osetra, Salmon Roe, Hackleback, Flying Fish and Sturgeon; Mongolian Crab Live Action Station—chefs prepare Mongolian-style roasted whole crab legs with lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, fingerling potatoes, buttered leeks and spicy Louisiana butter; spit-roasted Asian pig; Sushi Station with a variety of fresh rolls like the Hot Darn Roll, Paradise Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, Hamachi Nigiri and more; and Cold Shellfish, with lobster claws, scallops on the half-shell, mussels, clams and more. • The Buffet at Bellagio Expands Hours and Adds Themed Dinner Nights
The Buffet at Bellagio has expanded its hours, with dinner now being served from 5-9 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. There are also three themed nights: Wednesday is The Italian Grill with a selection of Italian specialties such as pistachio-crusted lamb, Fiorentina-style prime rib, osso buco, rosemary brisket and lemon roasted chicken; and on Saturday and Sunday crab legs are featured. • Less than two years after opening, Todd English’s rustic Mediterranean-inspired Olives at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas closed permanently after dinner service on June 4, 2023. The first Olives debuted in Boston in 1989 and the first Las Vegas location followed at the Bellagio in 1998 before closing in early 2018 and reopening at Virgin Las Vegas in August, 2021. English still has his Asian-fusion Pepper Club restaurant at the English Hotel in the Arts District and his comfort food-inspired The Beast at Area 15.
