Openings

California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) has opened its fifth Las Vegas location, in thriving Downtown Summerlin, located near Charleston and the 215 Freeway. The décor is part of the chain’s New Chapter model for the future, with an open kitchen, rustic furnishings crafted from sustainable materials and an extensive outdoor patio dining area. Also new are menu items including fire-grilled rib eye steak, bacon and potato pizza, and hearth-roasted halibut. The new "lunch duos," offered from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., feature pizza and soup or salad for $10.95, half sandwich and soup or salad for $9.95, or soup and salad for $8.95. Ringer Wings, Pizza & Sliders has opened at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, located just steps away from 33 plasma TVs at the resorts sports book, The Playing Field. The menu features three all-beef slider options of hamburger, cheeseburger and bacon cheeseburger; wings and tenders in flavors of honey barbecue, jalapeño tequila lime, teriyaki pineapple, Parmesan garlic and mild, medium or hot wing sauce; four varieties of house-cut waffle fries: plain, buffalo, cheese and nacho style; veggie dippers with dips made in-house including wasabi ranch, blue cheese and Sriracha ranch; and 15-inch pizza slices with options of cheese, pepperoni, salami trio, chicken and spinach, big meat, sausage and Margherita. Ringer Wings, Pizza & Sliders is open with food service from 11 a.m.-midnight daily, with the bar serving drinks 24 hours. Caesars Palace is home to an outpost of chef Brian Malarkey's Searsucker, which has two locations in the San Diego area and another in Austin. New 2 for $10 Lunch Menu at Sammy's Woodfired Pizza
Sammy's Woodfired Pizza is offering a two-for-10 menu, available weekdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. For $10 per person, diners may choose two items from the following selections: pepperoni, margherita or Italian sausage pizza; organic kale, Caesar, Greek or arugula and fig salad; and tomato, butternut squash or corn chowder soup. Otto Las Vegas Invites Guests to Relax on Its Piazza While Enjoying Complimentary Cicchetti
Otto Enoteca Pizzeria at The Venetian is offering a complimentary chef’s selection of cicchetti (small bites) on the restaurant’s Piazza overlooking The Venetian’s St. Mark’s Square from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. with the purchase of a bottle of wine. Examples of the ever-changing cicchetti selection are fritti, salumi, marinated olives, bruschetta and crostini, marinated vegetables and Italian cheeses. The wine list includes labels from some of Italy’s most renowned winegrowing regions and features a list of 100 bottles of wine for under $100. Zenshin Asian Restaurant Introduces New $5 Lunch and $9.95 Entrée Specials
Zenshin Asian Restaurant at South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, has introduced a new lunch menu featuring discounted sushi rolls and entrées, available from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The new items start at $5 and include a crunch roll with shrimp tempura, crab, avocado roll topped with eel sauce; spicy tuna roll with spicy tuna and cucumber; and California roll with crab, avocado and cucumber. In addition, new entrée specials priced at $9.95 include poke and cone sushi, an 8-ounce Wagyu burger, a po' boy tempura soft shell crab sandwich, and three mini Kurobuta sausages. Pot Liquor CAS Offers Specials on St. Patrick’s Day and During March Madness
Pot Liquor CAS at Town Square will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and March Madness by offering several food and drink specials March 17, and during select men’s college basketball games from March 19-22, March 26-29 and April 4 and 6. Specials include Pot Lager Shandy, Pot Liquor Lager, Grown Folks Gatoraid and Jack Daniels shots for $3; wings for $5; pulled pork sliders for $2; and bacon-wrapped beef meatballs for $5.
 

Chef Shuffle

The Culinary Dropout gastropub inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has promoted chef Mike Sutton to executive chef. Sutton brings more than nine years of experience, and studied culinary arts at the French Culinary Institute in New York City, before coming to Las Vegas nine years ago. Before joining Culinary Dropout as a sous chef in August 2013, Sutton worked as a line cook at the MGM Grand’s Shibuya. In his new role at Culinary Dropout, chef Sutton will lead the culinary team through hands-on training. After several months of rumors regarding its closing, Comme Ça at The Cosmopolitan closed March 31. The French bistro had been open since the resort debuted in December 2010 and is the first restaurant to close since The Cosmopolitan opened. Comme Ça was under the direction of chefs David Myers and Brian Howard, both of whom departed from the restaurant last year.
