Serendipity 3 at Caesars Palace has instituted the first seasonal garden on the Strip, which is allowing executive chef Michael Wolf to incorporate homegrown produce into menu dishes and cocktails. The garden currently includes sunflowers, tomatoes, artichokes, Japanese eggplant, bell peppers, rosemary, basil, cilantro, chives, mint, shallots, dill, marjoram, oregano, tarragon, anise, coriander and garlic. California Pizza Kitchen has launched its New Adventures Menu, which spotlights items other than its signature pizzas. The new dishes include fire-roasted chile relleno stuffed with chicken, queso quesadilla cheese and roasted corn and black bean salsa; Norwegian Atlantic cedar plank salmon with corn succotash; grilled marinated chicken chimichurri; quinoa and arugula salad topped with feta; and shrimp scampi zucchini fettuccine sautéed with lemon, garlic and white wine. The Range Steakhouse at Harrah's Las Vegas has introduced a new menu of cocktails and appetizers for $7. Served nightly from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. in the lounge, the menu includes all draft and bottled beers, well cocktails and glasses of wine, and menu items such as beef satay with a ginger and citrus soy drizzle and duck spring rolls with orange and peanut sauce. Pierre Gagnaire will be in the kitchen at Twist by Pierre Gagnaire at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas from August 27 through September 6. With newly appointed chef de cuisine, Ryuki Kawasaki, he will prepare multi-course menus featuring entrées such as Dover sole with champagne sauce; sliced duck breast with cassis bigarade and marguerite potato; and grilled miso pork with ginger prawn, seared pineapple and yuzu vegetables “mariniere.” The cost is $85 for the three-course menu, $125 for the five-course menu and $175 for the seven-course menu.
